RSS

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a technology that people use for share news. It is used to publish frequently updated content such as blog entries, news headlines or podcasts.  Simply speaking … RSS is a new way of getting fresh content for your web pages.
RSS is also one of important component of Web 2.0 technology.

For the blog site such as: blogger.com and wordpress.com, RSS is enabled by default.

The RSS website which is supply the news and allow to share the website content with other site, will put the icon RSS like above, or put the mark “RSS” or “XML”. This website also known as “Supplier” which has advantages:
1. It will get a lot of publicity from the distributor, more distributors put their RSS link, and it will be more publicity for that supplier website.
2. Supplier website will get a lot of “one way link back” or “Back Link”.

In the other side, the web site that shows and distributes news content from the supplier on their website is called as “Distributor”.  So the news content can be showed and read by the visitors on distributor web site. The advantage become a distributor is that they will always get new content for the web site, which means it good on term of SEO.

There is a symbiosis mutualism between supplier and distributor.

For attaching RSS content/ document (RSS feed) on your website (distributor site), firstly we need a RSS reader software which is known as “RSS Reader” or “RSS Aggregator”. A lot of Free RSS reader or Free RSS reader in internet, but need to remember because you need it for web site, u have to choose the software for web application not for desktop application. Some of Free RSS reader that can be used as web application are :
