Most of internet marketers are believe that high PR is identically with huge amount of back links. It is might be correct but of course back links is not the only one parameter of Google to set the Page Rank of a website.
I made a small investigation with some of web site with a backlinks checker iwebtool.com with the result as below:
- Johnchow.com (PR=4), backlinks = 25,980
- Oggix.com (PR=5), backlinks = 9,796
- Moneymarkerinfo.blogspot.com (PR=3), backlinks = 3,115
- Bidvertiser.com(PR=7), backlinks = 164,585
- Techcrunch.com (PR=7), backlinks = 347,609
- Engadget.com (PR=5), backlinks = 1,304,027
- Scobleizer.com (PR=7), backlinks = 76,580
- Makeuseof.com (PR=6), backlinks = 0 !!!!
Wow!! Makeusof.com with PR=6 has backlinks = 0?? I don’t believe it! I checked several times with this backlinks checker but still no change. May be the tool was not working properly? Or because of other reason? But from this test, we can get summary that sometimes Page rank doesn’t have direct relationship with back links eventhough have huge amount of backlinks can help increasing page rank.
